Spring 2024 West Central Initiative Grants: Up to $25,000

About: The West Central Initiative Grants program has expanded its scope to support projects and nonprofits in four key areas: Sustainability, Equity, Democracy, and Rural Social Isolation. These grants aim to foster a resilient, inclusive, and engaged community in the West Central region, addressing urgent needs and leveraging local strengths for long-term impact.

Eligibility: Open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, units of government (including Tribal government or divisions), or those with fiscal sponsorship from eligible entities. Applicants must serve people within the nine counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, and Wilkin, including the White Earth Nation.

Apply: The application window is from April 1 to April 30. Funding announcements will be made in June 2024. For guidance on the application process and eligibility, join our informational webinars on April 23 at 6 p.m. and April 26 at 11 a.m.

Message: Through unified application for multiple focus areas, we seek to streamline the process for organizations at the intersection of sustainability, equity, democracy, and social inclusion efforts. We encourage applications that show sound planning, organizational capacity, inclusive community engagement, and clear impact. Let’s work together for a healthier, more resilient region.
